Standby power for two Cheshire College campuses
Two 50 kVA Blackwell diesel generators with automatic transfer switches, installed and commissioned across two Cheshire College campuses.
The requirement
Cheshire College wanted emergency standby power at two working campuses, so essential facilities keep going through a power cut.
A complete turnkey job
We handled everything from planning to handover: two 50 kVA Blackwell diesel generators, automatic transfer switches, mechanical and electrical installation, power cabling, testing and commissioning.
How it works
The transfer switches watch the mains supply. If it fails, the generators start on their own and take the load; when the mains returns, the load switches back and the generators shut down.
Working on a live campus
The work was carefully scheduled around college activity to keep disruption to a minimum while staying safe.
